So, what can we as a worship ministry do to stay in alignment with the Holy Spirit and this new move of the Lord? I truly believe God has SO much in store for us, and I don't want to miss any of it. So, here is what I propose.
1. I commit to sharing more of my heart with the team. In no way do I view myself as an "expert" on worship leading, or do I think I have it all figured out. I do, however, believe that God has positioned me as the worship pastor at Church on the Rock, and part of that calling is to pastor this team. So, I am going to share what I know. I'm going to share what God shows me. I hope you will share as well. I hope this blog becomes a virtual place where we, collectively, can share revelation, thoughts, and what God is doing in our hearts.
2. Each month, I will be presenting a "theme" for that month. Something that God wants us to focus on and be challenged in. Each week, I will break that theme down a bit and give us something to chew on for that week. Please, again, feel free to share your own thoughts or what God is teaching you about the topics.
3. Our worship leadership will be taking on more responsibility and we will be presenting some new positions within the team to help us go to the next level. There will be more opportunities for each of you to grow. We as a leadership team want to do all that we can to help you fulfill your calling as a worship leader!
There will be much more to come! I am so honored that God chose to put each of you on this worship team. I am so grateful for each of you.
John 4:23-24 (The Message)
23-24"It's who you are and the way you live that count before God. Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That's the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship. God is sheer being itself—Spirit. Those who worship him must do it out of their very being, their spirits, their true selves, in adoration."
